Yesterday, we received new sod on our "back 40." What in the world are we thinking? Ok, it is going to look nice, but what are the implications here? You guessed it - more to mow and more to weed eat. What a racket! We pay for this stuff and our sentence is 20 to 30 years of hard labor.
The Brady's on the "Brady Bunch" were smart. Their backyard was AstroTurf. Will we ever learn?
To be honest, it looks great and I am glad to have it!

There was (and i'm sure still is) a house in Cleveland Mississippi that I saw once that the yard was green concrete. I'm sure there are good things about that, but what about diggin' for worms, or burying you pet, or raking leaves with your kids? eating dirt? i have lots of memories with a dirt yard, and they're all good. (remind me that i said that when i'm mowing in 150 degree weather (did you know there's not a degree symbol on the puter?))
I know your yard is beautiful. I'm sure the pool makes it even more lovely. I love watching young families making memories. Go out and run barefoot in the new grass.
