Interesting Four Years Ahead...

Just a few thoughts on the 2008 Presidential election which is now in the history books. I believe President-elect Barack Obama was the benefactor of the current state our country is in. If you will look back, you will note gas prices were on a runaway freight train. The economy was running on fumes with the mortgage and financial bailouts pending. Throw in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan into the mix and you have the ingredients for problems. John McCain was in an uphill battle from the start, since there was a sitting Republican President in the White House. The Democrats could have got Mickey Mouse elected President under these circumstances if you think about it. The American people voted for "Change," the definition of which is still to be determined.

Now moving on, I believe our nation will have a very interesting four years ahead. As well as the Democrats did in the 2008 election, you are only as good as you are today. The Democrats will control both Houses, and have a sitting Democratic President. Nothing can go wrong right? Well...maybe and maybe not. As bad as this election was on the Republican Party, the next election will be worse for the Democrats if everything continues to go South. Do you see a possible sequel to the movie "Perfect Storm?" It's just a thought.

Whether you voted for President-elect Obama or not, we need to pray for him and our country in the days ahead. Do we have to endorse everything he stands for - NO! In fact I would contact your local representatives anytime you feel President-elect Obama is taking our country in a different direction contrary to your beliefs. You have a voice...use it.

The United States of America has some hard times to come, but what a country we live in! I cannot think of another place I would rather live. Thank God for giving you a country that gives you so many freedoms.

Great post. I agree 100%. We need to pray for this new leader. God is still in control.
